How We Covered the IGAD Africa Summit at the Africa Convention Center

When IGAD — the Intergovernmental Authority on Development — commissioned N.G.A to handle live streaming and recap video for their major Africa event at Addis Ababa's Africa Convention Center, we had 72 hours to set up a broadcast-quality multi-camera rig for simultaneous streaming to international audiences.

The Setup: Four-camera live production — two fixed wide shots covering the stage and plenary hall, one roving handheld for reaction and delegate coverage, and one dedicated to the speaker podium with teleprompter framing. Live audio split between the hall PA and our own lavalier feed for clean broadcast audio.

Streaming: We delivered a simultaneous multi-platform stream — YouTube Live and a private institutional feed — with under 8 seconds of latency throughout the event. No drops. No interruptions.

The Recap: A 4-minute highlights film, colour-graded and delivered within 48 hours of the event's close — ready for IGAD's social channels and institutional archive.

Behind the VFX: How We Built the Effects for a Music Video in Addis Ababa

VFX music videos are rare in Ethiopia — not because the talent isn't here, but because the pipeline is rarely documented. This is the full breakdown of how N.G.A built the visual effects for a recent music video using a hybrid on-location and compositing workflow.

Shoot Day: We shot on a clean greenscreen setup outdoors — using Addis Ababa's natural light as our key light source, bounced and diffused to match the digital backgrounds. Every frame was shot at 4K 60fps for compositing flexibility.

Compositing: Backgrounds were built in layers — mid-ground, foreground, and atmosphere. Keying was done with precision rotoscoping on complex frames. Particle effects and motion blur were added in post to match camera movement.

Colour Grade: The final grade unified live footage and CGI elements into a seamless, cinematic look — pushing contrast and saturation to give the video a distinct theatrical feel that stands out on Ethiopian music platforms.
